Leaders in Longevity. Outcomes to Prove It.

At Private Medical, our prevention model drives unmatched outcomes

For more than two decades, Private Medical has practiced proactive, preventative medicine with results that speak for themselves:

  • Not a single existing member has been diagnosed with late-stage cancer.
  • Many of our long-standing physicians have never had a member have a heart attack, including those who joined with known cardiac issues.

These outcomes – true longevity – are unparalleled in our industry. They are living proof that our thoughtful, physician-led prevention model works.

Concierge Medicine
Because we thankfully have so few members to care for - only around 100, significantly fewer than other concierge practices - we have the intuition of knowing our patients intimately. When something's off, we can sense it. I think of it as predictive medicine.
Dr. Hadi Halazun
We begin with your biology and your biography—the whole of who you are and where you’ve been. From there, we zoom in on the details that matter most for your health story to prevent heart attacks, catch cancers early, and free you to live the life you want.
Dr. Jordan Shlain, Founder
I met with an entire family—mom, dad, 3 kids—to talk about heart-healthy eating. They have a history of high cholesterol, so while it might not be urgent, over the coming decades those habits will make an enormous difference.

Our strategic approach to longevity

Foundational Testing

The right test, at the right time

Our physicians assess across 15 diagnostic categories — but only apply what is truly relevant. This selective approach avoids over-testing while ensuring no critical signal is missed.

Everyday choices with lifelong impact

Fiber intake, sleep quality, social connection, and stress management can reshape neurotransmitters, alter biomarkers of aging, and change the trajectory of health.

Separating credible innovation from noise

We apply rigorous scientific standards to every recommendation. Science evolves, pseudo-science sells — our role is to help you tell the difference.

Catching what others miss

From uncovering hidden sleep disorders to identifying disease early, our physicians change the arc of members’ lives by paying attention where others overlook.

Spotlight: microplastics & your health

At Private Medical, we believe our members deserve access to the science shaping health and longevity. That’s why we partnered with Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health to publish a whitepaper, “Microplastics: Waking Up to the Plasticene” (August 2025).

Unlike typical reports on plastics and the environment, this work zeroes in on human health, highlighting overlooked exposure pathways and practical strategies that matter.

  1. We live in the Plasticene.
Microplastics are no longer confined to oceans and landfills — they’re in our air, water, food, and now our bodies, including blood, lungs, breast milk, placentas, and brains.

  2. It’s not just plastic.
Microplastics carry a triple burden: (1) the plastic particles themselves, (2) chemicals embedded in plastics (like BPA, phthalates, flame retardants), and (3) pollutants they absorb (pesticides, heavy metals).

  3. Exposure is constant.
We ingest or inhale microplastics every day through food, bottled water, dust, textiles, cosmetics, and packaging. Indoor air can contain up to 50x more microplastics than outdoor air.

  4. An overlooked exposure: IV therapy.
Medical IVs save lives, but infusion bags and tubing can release tens of thousands of microplastic particles per liter. For elective wellness IV drips, the risks may outweigh the benefits.

  5. Bioaccumulation is real.
While the body clears most microplastics, smaller particles (especially nanoplastics) can cross membranes and accumulate in tissues over time.

  6. Early health impacts are sobering.
Microplastics can trigger inflammation, oxidative stress, hormone disruption, and immune dysfunction, with possible links to cardiovascular disease, reproductive problems, and neurological impacts.

  7. They may worsen chronic disease.
Microplastics appear to interact with the very conditions driving global healthcare costs — non-communicable diseases like heart disease, diabetes, asthma, and autoimmune disorders.

  8. Science is catching up.
Research on microplastics is still in its early stages. Large-scale, long-term human studies are needed — but existing evidence already warrants precaution.

  9. Practical steps make a difference.
Use glass or stainless steel instead of plastic, filter drinking water, avoid microwaving food in plastic, wash synthetic clothing less often, and opt for natural fibers.

  10. Healthcare and policy must respond.
Clinicians, policymakers, and innovators have a role to play in reducing exposure, improving materials, and raising awareness. This is both a human health and planetary health issue.
